What you need to know about Post-Pregnancy safety

FIT Fam

Emily Skye FIT Post-Pregnancy has been designed with safety for both mother and baby as the number one priority. Please read this statement in full before you commence the program.

1. Before starting any workout program, always consult your doctor, especially if your pregnancy or birth presented any complications or you have any pre-existing medical conditions. Ensure you have medical clearance before commencing any form of exercise during and/or after pregnancy. Emily Skye FIT Post-Pregnancy has been designed so that you can commence the program after your 6-10 week check and with doctor’s clearance, however, this should be used as a guide only – do not commence the program without your doctor’s permission. If you had a c-section, it is vital that you discuss your return to exercise with your doctor.

We will not be held responsible in any way for circumstances, conditions or injuries that may result directly or indirectly from the content and/or services provided.

2. While exercising postpartum is recommended, you must always consult your doctor and follow their advice based on your personal circumstances. If at any time you feel unwell or experience any of the following symptoms listed below during exercise (including without limitation any symptoms that your doctor, physician, obstetrician or other medical professional advised you of prior to engaging in the Post-Pregnancy program, or at any time thereafter), you should stop immediately and call your doctor:

  • Increased fatigue

  • Muscle aches and pains

  • Colour changes to lochia (postpartum vaginal flow) to pink or red

  • Heavier lochia flow

  • Lochia starts flowing again after it had stopped

  • Discomfort

  • Chest pain

  • Vaginal bleeding

  • Painful breasts

  • Experience dizziness

  • Feel faint or light-headed

  • Notice an irregular or rapid heartbeat

  • Ongoing incontinence when coughing or jumping

3. If you have any concerns always seek medical attention and ask questions regarding your specific requirements when it comes to postnatal exercise.

4. All information we provide to you is for informational purposes only and should not replace the advice of your medical practitioner, midwife, physical therapist, or doctor as appropriate.
